The YVG terminal building is once again open.
The building had been closed for several weeks to repair a water leak. All repairs have now been completed.
Fly-in users, especially Medevac crews, appreciate the welcoming lounge area.
Pilots appreciate Vermilion airport as a destination, rest stop, and fueling station.
It’s business as usual for the tenants.
Flooded!
Monday February 2, 2026, tenants arrived to discover the upper level was completely flooded. And, since water runs downhill, there was also water downstairs.
The Culprit!

Not bad for its age, but this venerable water cooler succumbed to internal corrosion, likely exacerbated by past years of terrible town water.
Unnoticed over a weekend, it drip, drip, dripped until the main floor was completely soaked. Water pooled in low spots.
Flooring was pulled up to dry the underlay. Baseboards were removed to dry the walls.

Flooring had to be replaced. Walls had water damage. Downstairs ceilngs, too.
Asbestos!
Because of the buildig’s age (opened in 1976), wallboard, insulation, and ceiling tiles were suspected to contain asbestos.
The damage was covered by insurance.
Working “by the book”, specialized insurance renovations consultants were engaged to repair the damage.
